Quick Quotes
Q. Were you excited for today after yesterday's performance?
MATILDA CASTREN: Yeah, definitely. Anna is a great partner, and I feel like we work really well together. I was excited for today. Yeah, maybe it wasn't our best day today, but we still enjoyed it and gave it our all.
Q. Do you think you get along game-wise, personality-wise or both?
MATILDA CASTREN: I think both. We hit it about the same distance. Each day -- yesterday really in both matches she was hitting the ball well and I was putting well, so we kind of complemented each other.
Today on a few holes we were a little bit off. Overall I think we fit really well together, like personality and game-wise.
Q. Do you think it was maybe the tiredness? Because you played yesterday and it was a new experience, the energy must be going all over the place.
MATILDA CASTREN: Yeah, I think we were a little bit tired after playing almost 36 holes yesterday, but the Americans played great. They made a lot of putts. They made a lot of birdies.
Sometimes it's just not good enough, and today was one of those days. We tried our best, and I think we still played pretty well, but they just made those birdies in those key moments and key holes.
Q. You are not playing in the afternoon, correct?
MATILDA CASTREN: No.
Q. So you will rest I suppose.
MATILDA CASTREN: Yeah.
Q. Are you going to go cheer your teammates?
MATILDA CASTREN: Yeah.
Q. How important is that role for you, being a rookie, to go and be able to be in the ropes, in the team, cheer up your teammates?
MATILDA CASTREN: Yeah, I think it's important this year especially because there's not that many European fans here. You hear a lot of the USA chants and there's a lot of people cheering for the Americans, so I think it's important to have as many people out there cheering for Europeans as possible.
