Q. Catriona, I'd love to know first and foremost your angle on that second shot for Mel Reid at 18.

CATRIONA MATTHEW: Well, I was actually sitting right there. Saw it coming watching it, was watching it, watching it, thought, hmm, maybe it will go in the bunker, and then did get quite a fortunate bounce there just to cut through the rough.

Q. Been around a long time; nine Solheim Cup appearances as a player. How humongous is a half point in that situation?

CATRIONA MATTHEW: Oh, every half point I've realized over the years is absolutely crucial. From the start to the day today or this afternoon it looked like where the momentum was kind of heading towards the U.S., but kind of edged back a little bit in the afternoon and that kind of half point has buoyed us up I think.

Q. After all that's happened in the last 24 hours, a three-point lead is still a two-point lead for your team. How confident are you going into singles?

CATRIONA MATTHEW: Yeah, very confident. Two-point lead, would have taken that when we teed off the first round. So yeah, delighted to be going in with a lead.

Q. The message to your team will be what?

CATRIONA MATTHEW: Just for each of them to go out there and win their point.
