Quick Quotes
Q. It was a really tight match all day up until the very end there. How did it go out there?
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, it was good fun. I think we played better back nine and managed to hit some good shots in, so obviously very pleased just to get a point?
Q. Leona, a rookie but a full day here. How did it feel first day out on the golf course?
LEONA MAGUIRE: Yeah, obviously delighted to get two points on the board but had two great partners today. Georgia played amazing. She hit some really, really key shots when we needed it the most. That birdie she made on 15 was huge for the momentum going into those last few holes.
Yeah, I mean, I was just cheerleading out there this afternoon for her.
Q. I don't know about that, but the two of you definitely made a great partnership. The first time that you have played together. Georgia, you've had a lot of different partners. How did it feel being out there with Leona today?
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, I mean, I secretly wanted to get her for this afternoon. She's a very smart golfer and a very good one. I think we're quite similar, so I was very happy to be paired with Leona.
Q. What are you most pleased with out there from your day?
GEORGIA HALL: I think we played a much better back nine and managed to hit some really key shots at crucial times, and obviously really delighted to get that point in the end.
Q. We've all been saying, and I'm sure the viewers would agree, you have been fierce on day one of the Solheim Cup, the first ever Irish woman to play and obviously your rookie day. How was that for you?
LEONA MAGUIRE: Yeah, it's a team effort out here. Happy to do my part for the team. I was fortunate to have two great partners on day one. Georgia played incredible today, this afternoon and we hung in there. We stayed really patient.
When we were teeing off and the momentum sort of changed, we didn't get down and we fought back, and hopefully that gives us some momentum going into tomorrow.
Q. Give us a sense of your emotions; I want to know what goes on underneath the surface.
LEONA MAGUIRE: Trying to stay as calm as possible, soak it all in. It's been good. There's been more European support out here than I thought there would be.
Really enjoyed the first tee this morning, hitting that first tee shot.
Q. Georgia, how's that been? Obviously tough not having friends and family out here and as much support. How has that been in comparison to Gleneagles last time?
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, we didn't hear too many European cheers, all USA, but I'm quite adept at ignoring them now, so it's not too bad. We've just got a job to do, and trying to win our point, so that's all we can do.
