Quick Quotes
Q. There's a lot of color on this card; describe this day for us.
BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: Front nine I played really good. On, what hole was it, 7, I hit one right off the drive and it just didn't feel right, and from then on just the driver seemed like wasn't really in tune. But that's okay. I scraped it around. I started off hot; birdieing 8 after that drive off to the left was pretty special. Then I had a little bit of mud on 12 and tried to play out to the left, the wind caught it, I just missed it a little right.
Hit a great shot on 13, flushed it right at the flag and rode a bit of breeze, got up, and made an unfortunate error there. Then pulled my driver on 15, 15 and 16.
Striped one on 18, happy about that, but got to clean up the driver from today. If I can do that tomorrow, I should give myself plenty of chances.
Q. Let's take you to the 14th hole. As you said, a little bit of a slip-up there over those two holes. How important was this one?
BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: It was very important. It was a 10:00 shot, just over 10:00 shot. Came up and spun just a little short. Came up and tried to hit it about 112, 113 and did that beautifully and then made a nice 10-footer, so I was happy with that, and missed all that color.
Q. Looking ahead to tomorrow, what do you relish about tomorrow's day?
BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: Winning a golf tournament. That's what it's all about. That's why we play golf. Obviously I talk about the long drive stuff that I'm doing, and all these are the facets for the Ryder Cup, but it's ultimately about winning no matter what. Hopefully I can go get the job done tomorrow. I've done it eight times; hopefully I can make it my ninth.
Q. You are the fourth guy to make back-to-back eagles on the PGA TOUR this season; that certainly added a bit of electricity to the BMW Championship. I think there will be a bit more tomorrow?
BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: Hope so. Fireworks tomorrow.
Q. I think you experienced everything during that round except for maybe a hole-in-one. That was the only thing that seemed to be missing.
BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: Yeah, no doubt. It was definitely colorful. Thought I played pretty well the front nine,, had a mis-hit drive on 7, felt weird; from then on out wasn't driving it very well. That's what I'm going to go do, and work on that for tomorrow.
If I can get that straightened out like I did the first few days and off the tee the first couple holes today, I'll give myself a great chance again. Obviously going 5-under through five is the way I want to start, and if I can get going on that tomorrow, I'll give myself a great chance.
Q. Yeah, so what you're going to work on here after is driving because the putter is great.
BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: Putter is great right now. That's something I worked on last night and I figured something out. Keeping my hips a little more still has helped out, and I'm seeing the lines a little bit better. It's taken me a little bit to acclimate for some reason, but I'm now ready to go with the putting, and hopefully I can get it done tomorrow.
Q. What does it mean for you to see all these kids? Did you see them on 18 lined up with your hat on?
BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: It's amazing. It gives me chills. It's awesome to see that type of support out here, and I really appreciate it because for me this is because of Hogan and Payne Stewart, and I'll continue to do that because they mean the world to me. They represent and embody the true game of golf, and I certainly honor and appreciate that. I want to keep doing that, and seeing kids go out there and support me with the cap is pretty sweet, and hopefully that can continue.
