Q. Slightly harder conditions?

CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, it was really good. I could have been a lot lower. Left a few shots out there on the back nine. I left a seven-, eight-foot putt an inch off the hole but was dead in line. But the greens were slower today and they didn't double cut them. Felt really good. Nice it to be around home turf, even in Europe. Feels more like home.

Q. You seem to be enjoying links golf more than ever?

CHARLEY HULL: I really am. Not really thinking too much at the minute. Just have to go out there and have fun. Haven't got much on my mind at the minute. Nice to be out there playing free.

Q. What are you doing to keep your mind free?

CHARLEY HULL: Me and Georgia are going for a spa weekend the week we are back, going shopping in London. And I was saying to her, I'm planning what I'm going to buy. We're just joking around. We're just going to go to spa and then going to go shopping in all the nice places.

Q. Nice bonding ahead of the Solheim Cup?

CHARLEY HULL: 100 per cent. She's a good friend of mine, Georgia. Can't wait to hang out and have some time.

Q. Do you feel like you're on the cusp?

CHARLEY HULL: I feel good, I feel tired but I feel good. At the end of the day I have in my mindset now, golf is golf at the end of the day, it's sport, don't get too down on yourself because sometimes this year, I get too down on myself, like I'm too obsessed with golf, breathe golf, eat golf, sleep golf, everything's golf.

So just out there for getting about golf and playing better and freer.

Q. Do you think that might be because of COVID restrictions, having to stay in hotels and stuff a bit more?

CHARLEY HULL: I've got an addictive personality, so I always have to have an obsession with something. I feel like this year my obsession has been with golf but sometimes it's too obsessed with golf. It's not a bad thing but just try to find different things to switch my mind off it.

Q. What have you switched to?

CHARLEY HULL: Just shopping. I think shopping, that's what I've switched it to, shopping. Better play good golf to pay for shopping, my new addiction.
