L. HARRIS/R. Nadal
6-4, 1-6, 6-4
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. Do you think today's victory the most important of your career?
LLOYD HARRIS: Yeah, I mean, today was really special. I think, you know, I have had some big wins, and this year I have beat some Grand Slam champions, but to beat a 20-time Grand Slam champion, and especially in front of a full crowd and with such an amazing atmosphere, it was definitely something very special. I would definitely put it up there, for sure.
Q. What do you think you did best out there tonight?
LLOYD HARRIS: I mean, to be honest, tennis-wise I did a lot of good things. I think the best thing was to stay in the moment, keep my composure, and I think I just stayed with my game and stayed playing a consistently good level throughout the match.
For sure, from a tennis aspect, I did a lot of good things. It was a good, quality match, I think. Not easy for me out there. It was pretty physical, bull all in all, I'm just super happy with how everything turned out.
Q. Next matchup against Kei. You guys played once, you won. Can you talk a little bit about the matchup?
LLOYD HARRIS: Yeah, I mean, for sure, seems like it's not getting much easier. Kei is also tremendously tough opponent. I had a really difficult match with him in Dubai. Luckily I got the win there, but I do know he's playing really well.
I got to see a lot of his match today. It's going to be a very tough battle and I think a very different game style than I faced today. It's going to be a new challenge and I look forward to it.
It's time to rest and I know tomorrow is going to be another rough battle, but I'm looking forward to it.
Q. Many players say that conditions on surface it's very different on the center court than the other courts. Do you feel the same way?
LLOYD HARRIS: Yeah, it is different, and also the fact that I played in the daytime yesterday and played nighttime today. That also makes a difference. I do think the court today was playing like you could play really high quality. It was kind of perfect conditions in a sense. Not much wind.
I mean, the balls were sitting up pretty nicely to have a lot of good groundstrokes, and also was moving fairly well through the serve. I think it was really nice conditions to play tennis in, where it's a little bit more bouncy and a little bit more tricky in the daytime.
I could definitely say it might be a little bit different from the outside courts but also depends what time of the day you're playing, for sure.
Q. Tomorrow you will play against Kei Nishikori. What will be the key to be able to beat him?
LLOYD HARRIS: I mean, I think Kei is a much more aggressive returner. He's going to try and play much more on the baseline, play more aggressive also like try and get inside the court a lot, which he did in the past against me. I think it's just to keep confidence on the serve and try to put as much pressure as well on his serve.
But, you know, I think regardless of how we play, I think it's going to be a difficult match tomorrow. But, you know, hopefully I can do similar good things that I did today.
