Quick Quotes
Q. All right, just give me a general assessment, opening round 10-plus?
MARK ANDERSON: Yeah, solid day. Got off to a really nice start. That always helps. And back nine, we got it without too much wind, which was nice. It kicked up on the front, so it got a little trickier. But good start. Very pleased with it.
Q. Different format of course this week. Is there a different strategy you're talking over with your caddie coming into today and the week?
MARK ANDERSON: Birdies are important. If you can throw an eagle in there, that can really help. Just try to minimize mistakes. Bogeys are okay, just no doubles. They really hurt.
But, yeah, it's fun not to worry about your to-par scores, just try to get as many points as you can. It's different. It's a lot of fun.
Q. Are you going out there maybe more aggressive then?
MARK ANDERSON: Today was tricky. It was hard to be aggressive. You had to pick your spots. (Indiscernible) made some birdies. It's not playing easy. So, patience is probably key this afternoon.
Q. Was it the wind that really that added the factor?
MARK ANDERSON: Yeah, it's all over the place. It's pretty messy. It played tricks on us (indiscernible).
Q. Correct me if I'm wrong. You were out here last year; is that correct, this tournament?
MARK ANDERSON: Yes.
Q. Compare and contrast the setting last year. Seemed kind of spooky, There were no spectators out here. Obviously this year, it's limited capacity but you have people out here; it almost feels normal. What was that like to be in front of fans once again out here?
MARK ANDERSON: It's nice. That's why we play really. It kind of makes it exciting for us to (indiscernible) everybody else. We've gotten back to that this year. It's exciting to see people come out and be enthusiastic about the golf. It's a really nice positive change.
Q. What is your favorite part just about fans? Is it the interaction, or what do you prize the most about people watching what you do?
MARK ANDERSON: Entertaining them. Hitting good shots. That's really what we're doing out here is entertaining. And it's no fun when I'm struggling or not playing well, when I can't get anybody to even be too excited about. But hitting great shots and seeing people appreciate that is fun.
