Quick Quotes
OLIVIA MEHAFFEY: It's been a very fun week so far. Even the practice days I was having a great time. I was here very late on Wednesday night. It seemed I didn't want to leave the place. Just really enjoyed being home, home crowd and a lot of family, a lot of friends. I don't get home that often now, so enjoying every moment.
Q. What's the journey going to be from amateur to pro?
OLIVIA MEHAFFEY: Yeah, so focusing on Q-school. That's my priority, so I'll go back out to the States in a couple of weeks and focus on LPGA Q-school. That's the priority. Then maybe try to get a few invites or Monday qualifiers in the middle of that.
Q. You did play on the LET recently. Tell us about that.
OLIVIA MEHAFFEY: Yeah, I played in Finland, so I turned pro the end of May, and I decided it would be a good idea to do eight weeks on the road. Not the best weeks; that was the eighth week, so kind of realized that was a little bit much. There's a reason why everybody takes a break in there. Yeah, that was a great experience, and obviously LET debut as a pro, so very enjoyable.
Q. As someone coming from college, you've got youth, you've got this journey in front of you; how exciting or how daunting do you see it out there? You've got to realize it's going to be an incredible journey but you've got to work hard. Tell us about your vision for the future.
OLIVIA MEHAFFEY: Yeah, I love this game and very passionate about it, and since I was six years old I've wanted this, so I'm telling myself to really enjoy it and truly generally enjoy every single moment.
It doesn't feel like work so far. I'm just loving being out there. I know there's good days and there's bad days ahead, and just kind of take it all in, learn while you can and enjoy the good moments while you get them.
But I'm excited for the future. I feel like my game has been trending nicely the past few years. I've had a very good amateur career, and it's been a while coming.
I broke my hand and I haven't got to Q-school yet, so I feel like that was going to happen two years ago, and it's just kind of surreal that it's now here.
Q. You've got two more rounds at Galgorm haven't you.
OLIVIA MEHAFFEY: Yes, I love that golf course. I'm kind of ashamed of myself that I've never been to Galgorm until this tournament, and everyone said how I have this great advantage, but I had never played it until this week. Just a beautiful venue, really great golf course and really excited.
Just honestly enjoying having so many people out watching and out supporting. I love playing in front of my family and friends.
Q. Tell us something about this golf course because Galgorm is going to get three rounds, this has got one, but there's some real benefits to this golf course. It's a lovely course.
OLIVIA MEHAFFEY: Yeah, Massereene is a great venue. I think it's very tricky. I think a lot of people were kind of thinking more of the low scores would be out here and Galgorm is a little bit tougher, but I think it's so tough out here. You really have to place the ball off the tee and some of the greens are quite small and they're quite tough to read, but very good shape. It's very impressive.
