Q. So you had a pretty clean scorecard out there, birdie on 16. Talk me through the round.

CATRIONA MATTHEW: Yeah, I played actually really well the first kind of seven holes. I was probably inside 15 feet and couldn't hole a putt.

Then I made a couple good par putts on 9 and 10, and then just pretty steady again. Then managed to hole a putt on 16.

Really pretty pleased with how I played? Greens are tricky, but gave myself a lot of good chances.

Q. In terms of how the course played today, was it what you expected after the first couple practice rounds?

CATRIONA MATTHEW: Pretty much I would say yeah, yes. Just trying to keep it below and give yourself a chance at some of the putts. Even pin high is tough if they're across the slope.

Q. Any change in game plan for tomorrow?

CATRIONA MATTHEW: I don't think so, no. Just try and do more of the same. Try and hole a few more putts.
