THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. Can you tell us about your reflections on the match today?

BARBORA KREJCIKOVA: You know, I see the match very positive. If somebody ask me before the tournament that I'm gonna be in the fourth round, I would just take it, but, you know, I just feel that I achieved a lot.

I mean, I played Ash. Ash is amazing. She knows how to play. She's been here. She's No. 1. She's there for a reason. She belongs there.

But, I mean, the match was actually really close and I had my chances. I just didn't convert them. Against player as Ash is, you actually have to convert everything.

It just made me a little bit more unlucky, but I just felt it was a really good match. I'm actually happy that, you know, I did what I wanted to do and that I was playing my really good tennis.

Also, Ash is really good person, so at the end, I mean, it hurts but it doesn't hurt that much, because she was just better today.

Q. It was a quick turnaround between going on the clay and then going on to grass here. Did you feel if you'd had another week in between that would have helped you a bit more in terms of the acclimatization?

BARBORA KREJCIKOVA: You know, I really don't know. It's hard to say right now, because the tournament is over in singles. I mean, I tried to do my best, you know, to prepare as best as I could, and still, you know, I wasn't really practicing back home. We don't really have that many grass courts, so I was pretty much practicing indoors hard court or artificial grass, and I played only three days.

With the way I was preparing, actually making fourth round, I think it's unbelievable, because I just didn't have that much time and I didn't play any tournaments on the grass. Actually, I never played here before. I don't really have that many grass court matches in my career, so, you know, I just see all of this as a very positive thing, and, you know, I just feel that Ash was just better, that she was just a little bit better player today.

I just felt that I was really close with her, and, you know, it was actually a tight match. You know, I just, yeah, like I'm disappointed for sure, but, you know, on the other hand, I had a really good three matches where I had to overcome a lot of things.

Today it just wasn't good enough, but I'm just looking forward to keeping improving again and maybe next time that's going to be different. Hopefully next time is going to be different.
