Q. That's a heck of a way to get into the house.

PATRICK RODGERS: Yeah, that was a nice way to finish. I was really proud of my patience today. Obviously this golf course, especially over the years, has been very gettable. I feel like it suits my game, and I was even par through 11 holes, and so you're looking up at some scores, I knew there were some low ones out there, but I kept telling myself there were chances down the stretch, chances down the stretch and trying to be patient, and it really paid off in a big way.

Q. This place means a lot to you, coming here, the opportunities that were given to you early. For people not from the Midwest, describe why this place is special for those of us that are from the Midwest.

PATRICK RODGERS: Well, this is a special event. The people of the Midwest make it feel like a hometown event, not just for people that are here but for everyone. This was one of the first events I ever came to. I watched Jonathan Byrd win in the final round and then went and walked the back nine, reliving every shot.

I kind of have vivid memories of kind of dreaming of being a PGA TOUR player because of this place, and so now to be able to compete here year in and year out has been really special.

Q. Did you petition to have the tee up on 14 the rest of the week because you have feasted on that par-4 so far.

PATRICK RODGERS: Yeah, I think I'll play that hole and I'll be just fine. A couple more 2s, I'll be pretty happy.

Q. What is the strategy there for you? There are a couple guys that laid up there today, but with two front hole locations, is it pick a line on the left and fade it on down the hill?

PATRICK RODGERS: Yeah, I thought the two pin locations were pretty gettable, especially with the tees up. Yesterday was downwind. I actually hit hybrid. Today it was a driver back into the breeze. But I'm still trying to have a smart target, kind of looking just inside the right edge of the green and fortunate to have made two really good swings.
