Quick Quotes
Q. Your overall impressions of your second round here today.
TED TRYBA: I thought it was really tricky. We went out in the morning, wind was blowing. We went out, some guys had jackets on, it was cold. Front came through, we were playing right behind it. Wind blowing 15, 20 miles an hour, made it very, very tricky to get balls close. Messed with some tee shots on the cross-winds. Then we came back, I think we played into the wind until maybe 16, 17, 18, and that was the end of it. Now it's sort of blown out. Now these guys can deal with the heat.
I thought the hole locations were good. A couple front pins made it difficult to get there. If you're not in the fairway, you don't have much here. The rough is very, very, very penal. Keep it in the fairway and hit smart shots. I thought the greens sped up. In the morning they were kind of a little bit -- not slow, but not as quick. As they dried out late in the afternoon on that back nine, those greens got lickety split. So you had to be careful.
Q. Some of those long par-4s in the middle, 8, 10, and 12, have seemed to pose some challenges. So you bogeyed 10, came back and birdied on 12. What was your --
TED TRYBA: I hit the fairway, hit the 6-iron. It just rolled through the back of the green, and I hit a beautiful little pitch there from that back fringe. Just kind of wiggled to the right on me. The putt I played, I was playing it straight. It just went a little right on me, so I missed it. 12, I ripped a drive down there because it was playing downwind, and I hit a 9-iron to that back shelf. I hit it three feet, so that made it much easier. Kind of played it even there, got one back, so that was good.
Then my stupid bogey was just a three-putt from 15 feet on 14, just down the hill. Just the speed started picking up. I just laid the face on it, rolled six feet past, and I missed it coming back. That made me aware that the greens were getting faster. Up until that point, I was putting uphill.
Q. At even, do you like where your positioning is?
TED TRYBA: We played two practice rounds, and now we've played the course twice now, so everybody kind of knows where to go and what to do. So I'm at even par. I need to really knuckle down and really play harder and harder and see if I can work myself up that board. Still no time to be -- I still really, really, really need to focus and stay on the ball, no time to relax.
