Q. Could you tell me just a little bit about how your day went, how you're feeling about where you're standing.

FRED COUPLES: I feel great. The course is nice. I shot 1-over, which wasn't all bad, but howling in the morning and now it's calm, but it's going to be hot. But it was good.

Q. What was your experience like on holes 8, 10, and 12? That's been the talk of the course.

FRED COUPLES: 8, 10, and 12. 8, I parred. 10, I doubled. And 12, I parred.

Q. How was your game plan any different than it was yesterday?

FRED COUPLES: It was blowing really hard for 10 or 11 holes, so I was just trying to hit them solid. The 10th hole I butchered. I had a beautiful drive and pulled an iron and three-putted from me to him. I mean, the game plan is just to try and hit it in the fairway, which I did a lot. Then when I didn't, I struggled. I believe I birdied all the par-5s, which helped.

Q. How do you feel about the course in general?

FRED COUPLES: The course is great. Yeah, it's set up beautiful.
