Q. A bunch of birdies today but also a couple bogeys. How would you assess your performance?

THONGCHAI JAIDEE: You know the golf course is very tricky today. Really affected in the morning, quite windy in the morning. Both things you have to be -- for me, I try to keep the ball in the play. Like if I hit the green and then fairway to green, you have to be on the fairway.

I couldn't hit many fairways today. Good thing is reachable par-5s today. Move them up a little bit. Made birdies on the par-5. I'm happy with even par. Anywhere on the golf course is very, very difficult. Keep it up tomorrow, play tomorrow. The same thing. Fairways, greens, and putt.

Q. Talk about how difficult the course is. We heard from a lot of guys that those long par-4s in the middle, 8, 10, and 12, I know they gave you some trouble. What is it about those holes that make it so tough?

THONGCHAI JAIDEE: I had two three-putts today, three-putt on 8 and then three-putt on 12. A couple birdies -- made a birdie on 13. I tried to hit driver on the green and then nice two-putt from there. Got a lot of birdies, but a lot of bogeys to go with. 16, made left. 17, made left. 18, made left again. Good up and down on 18, made good par. Then six, eight-foot putt for par there. Very happy in conditions like this. I really enjoyed it. Look forward to it.

Q. Looking ahead to the weekend, how do you like where you're at? Couple of shots off the lead now.

THONGCHAI JAIDEE: Give me a shot Saturday and Sunday, try to do my best. Anyway, you have to have like perfect everything, like good tee shot, good iron play, and then putting. The challenge is the green is very tricky. You have to be putting well. Enjoyed it. Thank you.
