Quick Quotes
Q. Probably not the start you wanted on 10, but it seemed like you rebounded and took advantage of those par-5s in the middle of your round. Talk about that.
ROD PAMPLING: Yeah, it was a bad tee shot on 10, just finished in the bunker and had nothing. Had to just kind of chip it out. It's a tough hole anyway. You never want a 5, but it's not going to hurt you so much. I just played pretty solid through there. Wasn't hitting it great, but just managed myself a lot. The only putt I missed was the one on 18. I had a good chance for birdie there. Other than that, it was just a solid day.
Q. Do you think your length helped out here at all?
ROD PAMPLING: Sure it does, a little bit. I wasn't hitting it right off the tee, so I wasn't getting much off the length. It was good. But I was trying to more so get it in play. That was the key out here, just get it in fairways. Managed to do that fairly well. Just keep trying to do the same.
Q. You've had some pretty good finishes in majors so far. What's it going to take to finish it off?
ROD PAMPLING: A couple more, if I can shoot it anywhere, obviously in the red is going to be nice. The course was -- I think the greens are a touch slower than they had been, allow for some of these pins to get to. That's where some of these putts are left a bit short. If the weather doesn't do anything different, a couple under every day will be nice.
Q. I know you played in Omaha a few times in the Nike Tour, Korn Ferry Tour. What's it like to be back here?
ROD PAMPLING: It's good. Good memories back here. I think Heath Slocum beat me the last time I was here in town, finished second there. Obviously want to be one better than that, but the mojo is good here, so I enjoy it.
