Quick Quotes
Q. All right, I know a little back and forth there on the back nine, last four holes. You got off to a great start with three birdies on the front nine. What was working so well for you there?
ELIZABETH SZOKOL: I was hitting my irons really well. Had a lot of good looks at birdie and just hit some fairways and could just some good irons and just couple putts went in, which was nice.
Good start to the day.
Q. And then what was going on n the back nine? You talked about it a little bit on 18, that you felt a little all over the place.
ELIZABETH SZOKOL: Yeah, I just missed my line a little bit off the tee, miss-hit it a bit and went in the bunker, another bunker.
Unfortunately a bogey to end.
Before that had a good first 15 holes or so, so that was nice.
Q. First one off in the morning I think this morning for you guys. I mean, it was an early tee time, but we've got fans back in Toledo. I know it's your third time here. What's it like to come back?
ELIZABETH SZOKOL: It's great. I love coming back. I'm staying with my host housing for the third year now and they're great, so it's really nice to be back. I love this golf course. I grew up in the Midwest so it reminds me of golf courses I grew up playing.
Happy to be back, and it's so nice seeing the fans out. Definitely missed that last year.
Q. I was going to say, you've made the cut the last two years and you've had some pretty decent finishes here. What do you like most about Highland Meadows?
ELIZABETH SZOKOL: It's in great shape. It's just a good Midwest golf course. It's nothing super tricky. Just right out in front of you and rewards good shots, which I really like.
Enjoying it.
Q. What are you going to work on heading into tomorrow?
ELIZABETH SZOKOL: Just a little bit of everything. Seeing some more putts go in and maybe some drivers as well. But just roll a few putts and then go take a nap.
