Quick Quotes
Q. Commiserations, it was a tough-fought battle. Talk us through your emotions after that with Lucas today.
JOHANNES VEERMAN: Yeah, Lucas played really well. I mean, he was just rock solid with his short game, so it's hard to beat a guy who doesn't drop that many shots. I thought I played really well today. I thought I hit it great off the tee. My irons were good. Made a good putt on 14.
And then 16, just hit it long. Might have been adrenaline. Maybe had the wind wrong, not sure but it was right over the flag, advanced in the bunker and bad lie and made bogey.
Q. What did it feel like to get that huge ovation on 18 from the Irish crowds?
JOHANNES VEERMAN: It felt like I picked up a shot and a half on that putt there because when I made that, I was shaking. And yeah, it's great to have the fans back and everything like that. It's really good.
Q. One of the best things that comes out of today obviously will be a spot in The Open Championship at Royal St. George's. What does that mean to you?
JOHANNES VEERMAN: Yeah, you know, playing the oldest championship in golf, it's a dream come true to play the British Open. I feel so blessed to be playing in it.
Q. Teeing up in the last group, fighting right till the end, you must get a lot of lessons from how today went?
JOHANNES VEERMAN: It's all about understanding yourself and knowing that I can play in the final group and I can play in the final group when it's raining and playing along with Lucas who is a great player. Just what I take away from this is that my game is good enough to play there and I think I'm good enough to play there and overall it's a great week.
