Quick Quotes
Q. Esther, great round today. Six birdies and an eagle to a sizzling 64. What went well for you today on the golf course?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: Yeah, a lot. The eagle was my personal highlight. But, yeah, I made many birdies; even missed a few good birdie opportunities on the front.
So, yeah, it was a good day. It was fun out there.
Q. What was it like rushing to finish here in the dark?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: I actually didn't think we would get that close to not finishing, but I'm so happy that we did. Yeah, it really is dark. You couldn't really see the pins on the last two holes so, yeah.
But just happy to be sleeping in tomorrow.
Q. Yeah, definitely. Now how does your performance last Sunday getting you to a top 15 finish in a major championship get you ready to play tomorrow?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: Yeah, I'm confident with my game. I think I can play good under pressure and I just really want to enjoy tomorrow and have a good time.
Yeah, learn from that experience.
Q. Joined by Esther Henseleit after a 7-under 64 in round three of the Volunteers of America Classic. That included six birdies and an eagle. Start with the eagle. Take us through hole No. 15 where you scored a two on the par-4.
ESTHER HENSELEIT: Yeah, they moved the tee up today so it was like 240 meters to the pin. I hit my driver, hit the green, hit like a six meter eagle putt, and it was like a little slider from right to left downhill and holed that one.
Q. That put you squarely in position to make a run at your first career LPGA Tour title. Overall just the performance today did that as well. Take us through the excitement to put yourself into contention on a Sunday on the LPGA Tour.
ESTHER HENSELEIT: Yeah, I'm happy to be in that position, and I just really want to enjoy tomorrow and learn from the experience. I think I can play really well under pressure. I really like that feeling. Yeah, we'll see what tomorrow brings.
Q. You started off bogey-free on the front nine; when you made the turn you were 4-under, 10-under overall. How good was the game feeling at that point after birdies on 3, 6, 7, and 8?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: To be honest, after 5 I wasn't feeling that great. I missed two good birdie opportunities and kind of saved par on the 5th, but then I really played well afterwards and had some really good birdies. Hit a few close, holed some good putts.
So yeah, from that point on, if you forget about 14, it was really relaxed, good golf.
