Quick Quotes
Q. Bogey-free round at a major. When is the last time you feel like you remember doing that?
DOTTIE ARDINA: It's been a long time. Yeah, I didn't even know I had a bogey-free round. It's nice. It's a good feeling.
Q. How do you think you played today with the conditions on moving day?
DOTTIE ARDINA: I think I played pretty consistent today. I had a lot of birdie putt opportunities, but on the front nine I only made one birdie. I was just trying to keep patient and keep telling myself, it'll drop, it'll drop. Made three birdies on the back nine. Very happy with that, even though I missed a five-footer on the last hole. But it's fine. I'll take it.
Yeah, I was just having fun. The girl in my group, Giulia, is also playing very, very good, shot like 6-under today. It's nice to have a good group on moving day, like less pressure.
Q. Does it motivate you to do even better when you see Giulia dropping birdies like she was all day?
DOTTIE ARDINA: Yeah, because it's fun to watch. My God, I'm going to do that, too; if she can do it, I can do it.
But it's a fun group, yeah. I guess the vibe and just -- it's there. It's like just happy vibes today.
Q. What does it mean to you to be playing very well in this major championship this week?
DOTTIE ARDINA: It means a lot. Like I said before, my game has been up and down, here and there, missing cuts, making cuts. I was very happy I got reshuffled after Kingsmill because I didn't have full status.
I just keep grinding every week, day by day. It's really important.
Q. I know a lot of players this week have really talked about overcoming some mental health obstacles. When you feel the up and downs of Tour life and this grind, what has it been like for you the last couple weeks ever since that PureSilk reshuffle?
DOTTIE ARDINA: Obviously the mental is a big part of the game, and it's not -- it's not easy -- it's not hard to think, oh, I'm struggling. It's always there. But like my caddie always says, my mom, my parents, keep positive. It's a learning experience, and take it easy. Just relax and just have fun and enjoy every moment.
Q. I love how I feel like the other day when I talked to you, too, you always say, have fun, just keep in the moment. How difficult is it to keep thinking about having fun when it's a major championship and there might be some added pressure or added stress? Is there anything you think about, anything you do to kind of get into a more fun mindset?
DOTTIE ARDINA: I talk a lot with myself in my head because I get nervous out there. You probably just can't see it, but I think we all do get nervous.
I would go way back or like happy moments of my life, or like the other day I was thinking about my dog or just something about like happy makes me happy, and I won't think about a lot with my shots. I'm still focusing, but like it's a balance.
I think I'm doing that pretty good this week.
Q. One day left here at Atlanta Athletic Club. What will you be focusing on during the final round tomorrow?
DOTTIE ARDINA: I think I'm just going to do what I did these past three days. I don't even look at the scoreboard, to be honest, because it just gives me more pressure, I guess. I try to avoid scores, like numbers. I just do my own thing. When I get back home I watch YouTube videos, whatever, just do some chill stuff.
