Quick Quotes

Q. I know No. 17 might not have gone your way, but then to close with a birdie on 18, what did that feel like for you?

JESSICA KORDA: It was nice hitting a 6-iron. We waited all day today. It was pretty bad. So a little bit of a momentum killer, I think, on a lot of the holes. 17 was tough. The wind switched, I think, right as the ball was in the air. There was nothing I could have done. I played it out exactly where I wanted to. That's golf, I guess.

18, I hit a great shot, but there was so much sand on that green, so I caught a couple pebbles. Obviously happy to end with a birdie. Even par is not bad out here. It's still a major championship, and I need to keep reminding myself that.

Q. I know they pushed forward some of these tees this week, especially today, especially on one of those par-4s, which was a drivable par-4. What did you think of some of the tee movements today?

JESSICA KORDA: I don't think they want us to play fast. No, honestly, it makes you think about it, so I guess keeping us on our toes, that's definitely for sure. I did not go for it. I didn't see the benefit of it, especially for that pin. They definitely tricked us up with the pins today. You really needed to think about a couple of them.

Q. You were very clear earlier in the week that you're focused on this tournament, so this question may be dense. Is there any part of you that thinks, okay, I just took a really important step by being under par and making the cut toward Olympic qualifying?

JESSICA KORDA: Not at all.

Q. Not at all?

JESSICA KORDA: Not at all. I don't know why you guys keep asking me this question. It's a major championship, so that's what I'm concentrating on. Ask me Monday.

Q. We have human brains. We can consider two thoughts, right. The Olympics matter to you, right?

JESSICA KORDA: I'm not looking at it like that because that's not how I'm trained to look at it. I'm looking at it as this is a major championship, and that's what I'm looking for, the same as I never thought about making the Solheim Cup team until it was the week off.

Q. You did say that last year.

JESSICA KORDA: I always say that. Every single time I'm asked about a future event, I concentrate on the one that I'm at. That's my main priority. Whatever happens after this, I can't affect what anybody else does, but what I can do is try to concentrate on what I'm doing the day off. Whatever happens in the future, I don't have a ball to tell me what the future looks like. I can't even tell you guys what the future is going to look like. I'm literally just concentrating one shot at a time all the time.

Q. Going back to AAC real quick, heading into the weekend here, this is definitely a test. What will you be focusing on the last two days?

JESSICA KORDA: Honestly, I don't know what they're going to do with the golf course. Like I said, they just keep us guessing. I was very surprised with a lot of the stuff today, and that's kind of just how I'm looking at it. Just take it as it is and one shot at a time and try to keep the ball in the best positions I can giving myself good looks.
