THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. Was that time violation double fault in the tiebreaker, was that the turning point in the match, in your opinion?
DANIEL EVANS: No, I didn't know I double-faulted on the time violation, to be honest. It just got windy out there when I threw the ball up and it got a bit behind my head. That was all.
No, I don't think it was. I thought he played a good match, and I thought I did well to hang around. Obviously got in some winning positions in the first set and didn't take them. So that's life. But, you know, I'm right there. I'm right there or thereabouts where I want to be at this point on the grass. I think he plays good on the grass.
Yeah, it was a little slower out there as well, so it definitely suited him a little bit more. You know, just a few points here and there were massive, you know, parts of the match. I think breakpoint I had second set, hit a decent slice, wind got hold of it and it dropped pretty short and he got round it.
So, yeah, I don't think I did too much wrong. I obviously played a pretty bad game to get broke in the second, but that's just tennis. I've got to move forward now.
Q. You've got some good wins last week and this week. You said you're where you want to be. What are you planning to do between now and Wimbledon then?
DANIEL EVANS: Yeah, I think take a few days, you know, away. You know, I think that's a good idea to get away for a few days, go home.
It was frustrating, little frustrating today, you know. So, you know, it's good to get away and leave the tennis court for a few days and then probably head into Wimbledon I imagine Tuesday, something like that. Yeah, I would imagine something like that is a good plan, arrive there Tuesday early and get going.
Q. You were quite hard on yourself when you lost in Paris at the French Open, but it sounds like you're pretty pleased with the way things have gone on the grass so far. And improving your serving as well?
DANIEL EVANS: I mean, difficult match today. I'm frustrated with how it turned out, to be honest. He's a class player, you know. He will punish you if you don't -- you know, I just couldn't seem to get right ahead in the tiebreak, so it was a bit frustrating, really. That was all.
I mean, I don't think I played too bad of a match. I'm pretty pleased with my two matches here, big court. Yeah, it would have been nice to get the first set there and see what happened or broke him in the second there and see what happened, but I think, you know, I played some decent tennis this week. You know, of course I had high expectations this week, but you come up against a guy like him who serves like that, it's difficult.
Q. Am I right you're saying you'll enter the Wimbledon bubble on Tuesday? Is that when you actually go into the hotel and the venue bubble? Secondly, how much time have you spent at home this year? You have been traveling so much.
DANIEL EVANS: Yeah, well, that's my plan. Yeah, I'll head there tomorrow, head home either tonight or tomorrow and, yeah, and just live a bit normal for a few days, enjoy myself, relax.
You know, there's no more real work to be done now between now and Wimbledon, you know. It's just about keeping my game in good measure. Yeah, I felt pretty fresh this week, and I had a few days out of the bubble before Nottingham, so I feel good about it all, and we'll see what happens at Wimbledon.
Whatever happened, I can sit here and say I prepared well enough to give myself a decent opportunity to do well. I did that this week, and I wasn't good enough today but that's just how it is, isn't it? That's sport, I guess. That's why we go again on Tuesday and try and get a bit better and, you know, learn from a few little mistakes today.
