Q. Lindy, just about a career day for you. Really turned it on on the back nine especially, bogey-free for a strong 65 today. Take us through what was going right to reach that number.

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, my back nine just had a couple really good up and downs for par, and then the rest of the holes seemed like I had pretty good looks for birdies.

I made two pretty long ones on the back nine on holes like 13 or 16, something like that, and that really kept the momentum going.

And then a two-putt birdie on 18 was great to finish.

Q. Did you have any sense during the round of today is just going to be a good day? Were the conditions with the rain very receptive on the greens for low scoring?

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, I think the front nine it was pretty receptive and the greens were definitely rolling a bit smoother. Then on the back nine the wind picked up and couple of the greens I wasn't really sure if it was going to release or stick, so just tried to judge can to the best I could.

Yeah, overall just hit a lot of the fairways and greens.

Q. That's the way to do it. I was watching on 16 you made about a 20-footer. What did that feel like? I know you had a couple more birdies. How did that carry the momentum to finish the round strong?

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, that was a really cool putt because it's a really fast downhill putt, but the wind was kind of gusting into us so I was like, Okay, I don't have to be too careful with it.

It was rolling and I was joking with one of the other caddies after because I said, Go and then I said, Sit and then I said, Go, and it just dropped. The crowd there gave me a really nice cheer, so that felt great.

Q. You have that delay like this morning. What are you doing mentally to make sure you're ready to go when you get on the course?

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, I looked at the pins and stuff last night, so kind of coming into this morning I kind of knew where I wanted to hit it basically. With the weather delay of two hours I just went home and slept a little bit more because my tee time was supposed to be at 7:26, so that's pretty early.

So I got a little more sleep and that was pretty much it.

Q. When you do have so much rain on the course, you mentioned the front nine may be a little more receptive. How else does that change the game for you and maybe less roll in the drives or anything like that?

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, so it played a little bit longer and it was a little confusing, because yesterday afternoon towards the end it was getting pretty baked. We were all talking about the fairways were rolling out like crazy.

So we had different clubs in into different holes, so it was really just -- I kind of just tried to take it one hole at a time and just take notes as I went on and just tried to pay attention to those little things.

Yeah, it was definitely changing.

Q. What have you been working on the last several weeks to find yourself in contention at this tournament?

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, I been working a lot on my putting. I was kind of lost with my putting for a while and then I felt like, Okay, I feel like I know what's wrong.

So I started kind of just simplifying it and working on it a little bit with John Graham, and I kind of have a little bit more confidence in it than I did a few months ago for sure.

And then my speed has just gotten a little bit better with a little bit better technique in my stroke. So both of those things combined really helped me.

Q. So you're sitting 10-under with two days to go. 11-under, apologies. You got to feel confident going in for what could possibly be your first LPGA win?

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, for sure. We've got 36 holes to go. We're halfway done, and it's great spot to be in for sure. Hopefully I keep playing a good game.

Q. When you entered the week, did knowing this course and what some of the numbers it can throw up, what was the thought process from a scoring perspective coming off an Olympic Club and Lake Merced that were very challenging?

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, I definitely played one practice round Tuesday morning and I could definitely see the greens were pretty soft then, so I definitely thought that the scores would be quite low.

A lot of the Par-5s are reachable, some of them with irons, which we don't normally get a chance to hit into par-5s with irons.

With five par-5s I definitely thought the scores would be low, but I didn't really think about my own score. Just really trying to hit fairways and greens.
