J. DRAPER/J. Sinner
7-6, 7-6
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. Were you surprised by the level of Jack Draper today, considering this is just his second match on the tour? Were you a little bit maybe unprepared for what came at you on the grass?
JANNIK SINNER: You know, obviously I think he's a good player. I see him in Miami as well a little bit. I don't know if he played juniors in Wimbledon. I don't know if there are some results of him.
Do you know something?
Q. Yeah, he's played juniors quite a lot on grass. He's quite a natural on the grass, quite used to it.
JANNIK SINNER: So, you know, I just tried to stay focused on myself, know what I have to do, which in the beginning worked quite well.
Then after, he understood a little bit my game as well, you know. You know, was a little bit of a roller coaster. He played important points better than me. Today I was not serving well, which I'm not doing for a little bit already.
You know, "surprised," you know, is a big word, you know, to be surprised. Obviously you have to be prepared. You know, today I think he deserved to win. These days happen, and I think he practiced a little bit more on grass already, or he has more experience than me.
Yeah, I think today he deserved to win, so obviously I wish him good luck with hopefully no more injuries from his side. He had a couple of injuries in the last few years, so, you know, I wish him good luck.
