Quick Quotes
Q. So much positive to take from this wreak. How do you feel?
MIN LEE: I think I'm playing good today, and obviously she played much better on the front, so I'm not going to punish myself because it was a great week.
Q. And then from the beginning seems like you're enjoying, relaxing. How was the nerves out there?
MIN LEE: Definitely. I was nervous but I'm just trying to think of other things besides I want to win the tournament. Just trying to play my game and let it happen.
Q. There are so many more events and opportunity for the rest of the year. How much do you think this experience will help moving forward?
MIN LEE: I mean, winning a tournament you have to practice, and this is a great practice. Maybe after couple times I will be there.
Q. Nice round.
A. Thank you.
Q. Give us a sense for what the vibe was out there. Matilda came out so hot at the start. Neither of you made a bogey until 17 was the only bogey all day.
MIN LEE: Right.
Q. Seemed like the level pray was very high.
MIN LEE: I mean, definitely she started really well and then that -- well, she just flew after few holes.
And then, I mean, I just keep trying, telling myself that it's going to come, it's going to come, and just keep playing my game, be patient. Whatever happens is going to happen, so I can't force anything.
Only thing I can control is myself. I just tried to play the best I can. I didn't play bad. She's playing great. So I'm not going to say anything like bad to myself. I just need to practice being in this position, and one day I will win a tournament.
Q. On the 5th you and Lauren you were off the side and you were talking like this about how close Matilda was on most of the holes. What was it like to just see someone play as well as she did?
MIN LEE: I mean, after couple holes I knew that was her day, and she's hitting the ball very solid, so the only thing I can do just play better than her.
But I mean obviously that was her day.
Q. What was that putt on 18? Looked like you had a chance from the side. How close did it come? What was your emotion as you were standing over that?
MIN LEE: Well, obviously if I make it or not doesn't really make big difference, but I just trying to end up strong. I was expecting the ball goes in but just came out short, which I was thinking about I can't leave it short but I just leave it short.
But it was a great putt. It's all good today.
Q. Last thing: What's the atmosphere like when it's this foggy? How does that make it feel out here? It's so different than when it's sunny, right?
MIN LEE: Right. But last few years we play here, and even when the Swinging Skirts was holding this tournament the weather was worse than this. So I experienced this before on this golf course, so that doesn't really bother, me because we can still see the pin. The only thing we can't see is just where the ball landed.
So if you hit a good shot it's going to be good.
Q. I would imagine you move up quite a bit in the Rolex Rankings. I don't know how much, but with a couple big events ahead, so Olympics become a little more on the radar for you?
MIN LEE: Definitely Olympics is always Bucket List for myself and really one thing that I want to do earlier than later. Obviously I'm not young anymore, so hopefully couple tournament come out and then I will finish strong and I will be able to be on the team.
Q. Take me through -- I'm going to look at the scorecard real quick -- take my through I think it was No. 5 when she eagled. What was running through your mind at that point? Were you thinking, I'm going to have to really give it a go here?
MIN LEE: I mean, after she hit that shot she just leave it short and very close to the hole, and I knew she was going to make it because that was her day. The only thing that I think today just play my game because I can't control how she plays.
Obviously she played really good and I'm happy for her, too, but I'm just practicing being in the position and then try to fight for it. Hopefully one day will come true.
Q. Obviously runner-up can sting a little bit. Is it a more gratifying second place finish when you don't lose it, someone goes out and wins to them selves?
MIN LEE: Yeah, well...
Q. Or is it just a tough a pill to swallow?
MIN LEE: No, it's not a tough pill to swallow. It's definitely good to me and her, because, I mean, she has great experience, and me, too, because, I mean, I have this couple times before and how did I deal with it? I mean, this is not really bothering me because it's a good week. What else should I say, right?
Q. Just momentum moving forward, do you feel like this might be one of the best spots your game has been in in your career?
MIN LEE: Definitely. It's very memorable tournament for me because I use to sponsor by Swinging Skirts, this tournament, and here we are back here again. It just a lot of memories on this golf course.
So I really want to come back again.
