THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. Tell me a little bit about your partnership, how it started, when you first started. What was your goal?
KATERINA SINIAKOVA: So we started play doubles in 2013 juniors. If I remember right, it was a little bit lucky, no? We started play actually here at Roland Garros because we couldn't find part never. We won it. From that time we decided to play with each other because it went really good.
Then we won Wimbledon junior title, then US Open. So it was, like, really amazing year. We really enjoy it. I mean, from the time it's long journey but I think we did really great job. We both keep fighting. We find our way to pro tennis.
I mean, I think our relationship is still improving and we really good as a team. We also trying to be much closer when we off the court.
I think that it's really great, that it's amazing. I enjoy it. I enjoy the time on the court. Hopefully we can enjoy more off the court.
Q. You both were 24-0 in juniors in doubles together. At what point did you realize you were good? Has Barbora surprised you at all this week?
KATERINA SINIAKOVA: I don't know (smiling). I think the women's draw is open, that now there is not really, really strong player who keeps winning every tournament. So I think everyone can play it. As I saw Barbora coming in the tournament, I think she played really great. She played amazing. She deserve it.
I actually really enjoyed to watch the final. I was really cheering. I was so nervous. It's much better maybe play. If I say maybe from the beginning I didn't expect it, but as I saw her playing matches during the tournament, I think she deserve it.
Q. Barbora, how difficult or not difficult was it to turn your focus to doubles? You've joined a very elite group in winning both the singles and doubles at the French Open. How does it make you feel to see your name there?
BARBORA KREJCIKOVA: I mean, it was really difficult. Like yesterday so many emotions and everything. I didn't really sleep well. I woke up in the morning and I feel really tired. I can actually say that out loud right now, I'm having some pains in my leg.
I mean, I'm really happy that it went this way. I actually went really relaxed today when I went on court. I was just trying to really support my partner and also just try to cheer her up a little bit, just say, It doesn't matter because we already played finals in Australia.
She said, I felt I was playing bad there, I don't want to play like this again.
I'm like, You know, no worries. You are not going to screw it up to me. It's fine. Just let's go. Let's keep playing. Let's keep working. Let's fight for every single ball. In the end there's going to be a result.
I'm super happy that she was just really playing today really well. She was really helping me. I think we did a really nice tournament and really good communication, connection. I think we've been really good today on court. Also past two weeks.
I mean, I'm just really happy. I'm really thankful to her that she was there, that she was standing next to me. It felt a little bit easier than yesterday. I'm just really happy that we have another title and looking forward we going to continue with our cooperation in Wimbledon and also for the Olympics. I hope there's going to be a bright future for us.
Q. What does it mean for you to capture this title along with the one that you won before? How are you feeling about the two weeks, Katerina?
KATERINA SINIAKOVA: Of course I feel amazing. I mean, I'm really happy that we did it. I think we play great. As Bara said, we really communicating really well. I think it's working.
I'm really exciting. I'm so happy that I can have the trophy again. Yeah, I'm enjoying it.
Q. As a Polish journalist, could you say a few words about Iga and Bethanie, how you found them today in the finals?
BARBORA KREJCIKOVA: I really respect Iga and Bethanie. I really like them. They are very nice off court. They're also very nice on court. I just really like them, both of them.
I think it's always a pleasure to actually step on the court with them and just play against each other. I think today I think it was good for us that we started the match really well. I feel they've been maybe a little bit more nervous than actually we were. I'm really happy that we started well and we were just a little bit more controlling the game. I just felt we've been better in pretty much all aspects of the game.
For me it's very special. I mean, I'm really happy that we did such a great things. I mean, I also wish Iga and Bethanie all the best for the upcoming tournaments in doubles, but also Iga in singles, she's really strong player. She's very young, so she still has a bright future ahead of her. She's going to be a star in the future. I just really wish her all the best. I just have to say I hope that she's going to continue and she's going to just go and improve because that's all we need.
Q. How are you two going to celebrate? What are your plans now? What do you feel about your chances on the grass, Barbora?
BARBORA KREJCIKOVA: I think we going to have a dinner together this evening. We will have a little bit glass of champagne. I already said I don't really drink but I think it's a time to actually celebrate it. I think we going to really enjoy.
The rest, I just want to go back home. I just really have to relax. I have to spend some time with my family. After that just start to work again.
I mean, I hope I'm going to have some chances on the grass, but I don't really know because I'm not that experienced on it. We will see. I'm just really looking forward to play the next tournament and every tournament.
Right now after all of this happened, this last two weeks, last two days, I feel really relieved and relaxed. I just know from now on I can really enjoy because I have pretty much achieved everything I really wanted. Now I can just improve, that's the only thing I can do, just improving. All the guys and the ladies are doing. That's what I think.
