Q. The shoes are already untied to relieve those feet that have put on so many miles this week. You were very emotional standing off to the side of the green. Was that disappointment in not coming out victorious, or is the part of that the fatigue of what you guys have been through?
SOPHIA POPOV: You know, I being think a little bit of both. I think I'm just a little bit sad that I just couldn't play my best this afternoon, and I know a little bit was fatigue. I just hit too many bad iron shots on the front nine, and still I was right there.
I knew if I had even close to the game that I had the last four days I think I could have won this match, but I think for both of us we could tell that that was not our best performance.
Just tired. Yeah, you know, I'm just -- obviously get so close you want to win, so...
Q. You wrote a Cinderella story last year winning the AIG Women's British Open; next week the U.S. Open. As a major champion, your thoughts heading into that once you got over what you experienced emotionally today?
SOPHIA POPOV: Yeah, you know, obviously it's still a great tournament. I think any other week if you come in second that's a great success. It's just because it's a match play format that it feels like a loss.
I can't forget all matches that I won until now and all the great golf that I was playing. My game is in really good shape heading into the U.S. Open. If I can give my feet a little break tomorrow -- I'm just excited. I love major championships. I've been playing well the last few that I played. I'm looking forward to it.
