Quick Quotes
Q. Amy Olson, 3&2 victory over Annie Park. First win in the column for you at the Bank of Hope Match Play event. Take us through the day. Little back and forth, and then you went on a run towards the middle to close out the front nine.
AMY OLSON: Yeah, it was back and forth all day. I think we tied three holes total, so it was either she won a hole or I won a hole. So it was definitely exciting.
I did start rolling in a few putts there early and got a little momentum in my favor, but she never gave up. She kept pressing and putting pressure on me.
So obviously very pleased with the 3&2 victory.
Q. The other group in your pod, Bronte, Austin, I don't know if you heard, Bronte had a walk-off ace on 17. Have you ever heard of that before?
AMY OLSON: No. I had to back off my birdie putt on 16 because people were so excited and definitely heard the cheer from where I was.
Q. You put yourself in a position now at 1-0-1, obviously got handle business, but at the very worst you would be in a playoff tomorrow.
AMY OLSON: Uh-huh.
Q. Obviously do your job and things will fall into place. How nice is it to put yourself into a position where just head down, go out and win, and the rest will take care of itself?
AMY OLSON: Yeah, that's always the goal, is basically to have it in your control, right? Not to be sitting in the clubhouse and your fate in someone else's hands.
Obviously if I go out and win my match tomorrow I'm at least in a playoff and give myself a good shot.
Q. Looked like you responded quite a bit today whenever Annie made a run. You grabbed it right back. That speak just to the fortitude of how you're playing, the mental fortitude, especially on a tough course like this?
AMY OLSON: That's just match play. It's up and down and you just can never give up. It is as much a mental battle as a physical one.
And so, yeah, you just can never give up. If you lose one you just got to try to get it back right away.
