THE MODERATOR: Good morning and welcome to the 2021 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship. We're here at Southern Hills Country Club, Tulsa, Oklahoma. We are joined by Rocco Mediate who finished his first round this morning with a 2-under 68. Rocco, a lot of pars yesterday -- I don't exactly know what hole you left off on -- but a bunch of pars yesterday, but you closed really strong today, didn't you.

ROCCO MEDIATE: Yeah, it's a fairways and greens place right now. It's just so hard. It's good. I started on 18 green. I almost -- I had about a 15-footer for birdie this morning, just missed. It was good. Made a few bogeys, but holed a 9-iron on 5 that kind of turned the whole world around. It was just one of those things that happens. And then finished pretty good after that. But yeah, it was one of those things, I was playing okay, a couple over, but it's easy to do that around this place, this place is total championship golf, really good.

Q. What did you have in when you holed the 9-iron and then how big a bonus is it?

ROCCO MEDIATE: Like 138. Well I was 2-over, I was okay, I was playing okay. It was hard, the wind turned. Yeah, just came off nice, hit, just went right in the first bounce. It was a nice looking shot, but it was a total bonus.

Then I hit a good shot on the next four holes, almost birdied all, I just missed on 6.

Q. What was the club in at 8?
