Quick Quotes
Southern Hills Country Club
JOHN DEVER: Good afternoon, welcome back to the 2021 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, Southern Hills. Tulsa Oklahoma. Brett Quigley recorded a 1-under par 69 today. Brett, tell us a little bit about what you saw out on the golf course. I see a nice mark on the 13th hole and maybe a highlight that hole for us.
BRETT QUIGLEY: Obviously the golf course is fantastic. I mean, it feels like a major championship. Big course. The Gil did a great job on the redo, just can't say enough good things about this place and it's just difficult.
The eagle on 13, hit a nice drive, great 5-iron to about 30 feet and somehow lipped the putt in. But overall happy with my game, I'm still a little sloppy, I'm not real tidy with the golf ball yet, making some sloppy bogeys, but overall really good and are looking forward to a good week.
JOHN DEVER: Two-part question. Just talk about the excitement anticipation when you see the schedule this year, it's got Southern Hills on it and also what you experienced from the wind out there this afternoon.
BRETT QUIGLEY: Well, you can hear it. The sunglasses were blowing off there. But, yeah, it was challenging all day. It was kind of a south, southeast or west wind and kept moving around and that makes it really challenging, especially the holes coming back up the hill, 9 and 18 and always difficult to get it up that hill and those two are good challenges.
JOHN DEVER: How about the excitement of coming to a golf course of this caliber when you see the schedule before the year?
BRETT QUIGLEY: Yeah, when I see it and then you know that the PGA's playing here next year and see some of the tees that they're going to play that we're not touching upon, but again, this golf course feels like a major championship, no matter what tournament you're playing here, it's a thrill to play here and you know you're in for a good challenge on all 18 holes.
