Q. Can you just take me a little bit through the round today and what was going on?

COREY CONNERS: Yeah, it was a really tricky day. The wind was up again, a different direction, so a lot of the holes played quite a bit differently. Felt like I played pretty well. Gave myself some chances. I hit a lot of good putts. I was a little more aggressive I felt today on quite a few of the birdie putts and I just didn't get them to fall. Only a couple bogeys on the round, which was pretty good, all things considered. I did play pretty steady, just couldn't convert the birdie chances to kind of get some momentum going.

Q. Every day different conditions, every day different emotions, too. How do you leave this whole thing?

COREY CONNERS: Yeah, I'll leave it a little bit -- a little sour taste in my mouth. It definitely could have been better. Happy with my game, just couldn't really get the putts to fall basically the last three days. Gave myself chances, hit it pretty well, but still a lot of positives. Had a great first round, battled pretty hard the last three days.

Q. You've been in majors lately; what are your plans now and how do you prepare yourself?

COREY CONNERS: Yeah, another confidence booster this week. I would have liked to have finished it off a little better, but still a lot of good things, like I said. I'm excited for the U.S. Open up next. I feel like my game is really well suited for the majors in tough conditions. Yeah, just another confidence builder, good learning experience. I was really close, and ultimately came up a bit short, but yeah, a lot of positives. Definitely can learn from it.

Q. Phil is still leading, but anything can happen. What are your feelings about that?

COREY CONNERS: Yeah, anything can happen. One loose shot away from making a big number out here. The trouble is right there on every hole, so if you're a little bit off, you can make a miss.

I think he's got a bit of a lead. I like his chances. Pretty impressive playing. I think he's obviously had an amazing career and is super talented, but pretty impressive to see what he's doing this week.
