Q. Solid 4-under to start the 2021 Pure Silk Championship. Opened with a bogey-free 4-under on the back nine, which was your opening nine. Start with the back nine. You had it going really well.

RUIXIN LIU: So actually before teeing off today I didn't have really high expectation because last week in the Symetra I didn't really play well. So just try to stay patient and work on my putting a little bit. Thank God it works really good for me today.

Q. Yeah. You closed with back-to-back birdies on 8 and 9. You had kind of a little bumpy patch in the middle, nothing too bumpy, couple bogeys. Take us through how you were able to bounce back and finish strong like did you and head right into the morning tomorrow?

RUIXIN LIU: So the two bogeys was actually my swing issue; pulled them a little bit. I'm actually able to fix my swing in the middle of the round to get everything straightened out.

So I'm just trying to keep doing what I'm doing today for tomorrow. Early start. The green is going to be nice and smooth, so...

Q. Do you expect perhaps some lower scores with the morning conditions tomorrow and some nicer course conditions?

RUIXIN LIU: Ideally for sure, but I'm just going to keep patient, because I'm still working on my putting, as I said. Just try to get the speed right. That's all I'm -- avoid three-putts, yes.

Q. Those are always good to avoid.

RUIXIN LIU: Yeah.

Q. You mentioned to me that you have a tournament back home in August and that you would like to ideally go home and play in that tournament and stay there for the rest of the year. Take us through what tournament it is and where it's at and why you want to...

RUIXIN LIU: So it's basically a National Team event that we're going to play. Most of the Chinese player on this tour are going back, so ideally I want to secure my card through Symetra before that so I can stay home and have a nice long vacation before next year started.

Q. What would a good finish here do to those plans?

RUIXIN LIU: You mean for this week?

Q. Yeah, if you were to finish well here in the reshuffle, how would that affect your plans, if at all?

RUIXIN LIU: If I could reshuffle to a good position maybe I will change my plan to play more here and then see if I can get my card from LPGA. Yep.

Q. So you might have some decisions to make.

RUIXIN LIU: Yes, but for now I'm going to keep focused on tomorrow.

Q. Absolutely. How have the two wins on the Symetra Tour this year helped with your confidence and where you can come out here and find a lot of birdies and feel comfortable stepping on the course with some of the best players in the world?

RUIXIN LIU: Yeah, so with the two wins earlier this year from Symetra, it definitely let me know my swing is in the right place compared to years before.

Actually I didn't play well here 2019, so it's really good for me to actually improve myself. I know I can play well out here and I think I that's a good confidence boost.

Q. Having put yourself in this position, hopefully continue that over the next three days.

RUIXIN LIU: Yeah. I mean, just hopefully doing what I'm doing today and then keep patient. Patient is everything on this golf course, so I'm going to try to do that. Yep.
