Q. Jiwon, what a great first round here at Pure Silk. You had a birdie and then followed by a bogey. Would you say that's when it clicked for you to really get serious and have four other birdies?

JIWON JEON: Yeah, for sure. You know, I started off birdie which is really good start, but having a three-putt on second is kind of, you know, kind of put me in the mindset where I need to get serious and focused.

I start trying to hit one shot at a time and then get really focused throughout the round. So I think I did a pretty good job through the rest of the round.

Q. What was your first hole like and how short was that putt?

JIWON JEON: It was like 12 feet or something. Yeah, it wasn't like really close or really far. It was kind of reasonable putt. I actually was off the green, so, yeah, putted out from there.

Q. What have you been working on to get to this event this week?

JIWON JEON: I had like three weeks off, so I was just practicing like short game, and I know that the fairways and rough isn't like really thick here, so I was focusing on having good contact on the ball.

And I think the putting here is really key for the tournament, so I work on the like distance putting and stuff. So I think that worked out pretty good, too.

Q. Did you just play a lot of golf over the past couple weeks when you had off, or did you give some time for relaxation?

JIWON JEON: So I have three weeks off. First week I was kind of relax a little bit and then get some good food and seeing friends.

Like after that I was start to working on the short game and the part where I need to work on. So yeah, I been working really hard for past three weeks, so I think it's start to pays off a little more this week.

Q. Did you come into this week with any goals?

JIWON JEON: Well, I -- so I talked to my coach and then we were like, Okay, for this week having game plan is no game plan. So yeah, I'm going to stick to that game plan this week and then I just going to play the rest of the week pretty well. Yeah.

Q. So then how is the course playing for you? Do you like the course?

JIWON JEON: Yeah, I really like the course. You know, I used to play golf in Florida and Alabama so the conditions pretty similar here and the weather and then the grass here, so, yeah, it really fits me so I really like the course, too.

Yeah, the length is good and everything is perfect.
