Q. Talk about the round today.

TIFFANY JOH: Yeah, it was just like super solid. I mean, it's interesting. This course plays completely different. I thought it would be an advantage that this is the tenth year I played this event, but the course plays so different.

It's like so much drier than it normally is. Like the clubs that we had into. I mean, I remember that one year when 10 was playing like into the wind and I hit driver, 3-wood and I was still like 20 yards short, but we had like 7-iron in today. You know, it's just a different...

But, yeah, honestly it's nice to play some solid golf. I've been struggling for the first part of this year, and I think it's funny when I listen to interviews of players that are struggling and they can miss eight cuts in a row and say, I'm really close. I'm trending upward.

I don't feel close at all. I feel super far. But it was like today was the first time I was like, Yeah, I feel like the game is getting close?

Q. What clicked? Was it ball striking or...

TIFFANY JOH: Yeah, I think I've been trying to work a lot on my driver, because, I mean, if I can keep the ball in play I'm usually okay.

And it's interesting that Jane and I choose to be partners at Dow every year because she plays a completely different game. She hits like every single fairway, every green.

But I've been like very kind of sketchy off the tee, but I think I only missed two fairways today and like, yeah, I think that was the difference.

Keeping it in play apparently really important. I've heard great things.

Q. Someone told me once that the secret to golf is don't hit it out of bounds.

TIFFANY JOH: Don't lose balls. Apparently that helps a lot.

Q. So firm and fast. Do you like that kind of golf?

TIFFANY JOH: I do, because firm and fast also means play is shorter. But, yeah, I think I do like it. I do like kind of doing a little bit of math with like shots into the green.

Sometimes I think when it's a point-and-shoot type course I almost play too fast because I'm already such a quick player. So I think it actually kind of helps me to slow down and think about where I'm landing the ball and stuff. I think it works in my favor.

Q. And are you in the Open?

TIFFANY JOH: I'm not. I actually missed the playoff by a shot. Kind of a bummer, yeah.
