Quick Quotes
Q. All right, a solid 67 today. What are your feelings after your first day here in Thailand?
BRITTANY ALTOMARE: Yeah, I hit the ball really well and I putted well and I got up and down really well, which was all really great because I didn't drive it super great.
So I felt like everything else helped that, which was really nice to see. So it's nice when one part of your game isn't working but everything else is and you can still score.
Q. I know last week you told me you're still trying to make it all come together, too.
BRITTANY ALTOMARE: Yeah.
Q. I know you said that everything but the drive, but is it really just the driving that you're feeling and that will make it all come together?
BRITTANY ALTOMARE: I feel like it's something always, like it's changing, but today it was just specifically my driver. But like I said, everything else was like really good, so it kind of balanced it out.
I was able to score, so that was really nice.
Q. How important was it to be aggressive when the conditions are this different than they were in 2019 and in years past?
BRITTANY ALTOMARE: Yeah, it's playing completely different. It's playing longer and super soft. So I think that you just -- when you're in the fairway and you just have to be aggressive at the pin.
So, yeah.
Q. After getting used to the conditions for the first time in such a long time, how much do you think your good play last week helped coming into today?
BRITTANY ALTOMARE: Definitely helped. It was really good to finish well last week, and it just gave me some confidence. And I guess I've been feeling really good about my game. Just haven't been seeing the results yet, and last week I saw signs of it and today I played really well.
So trending. (Laughter.)
Q. Trending in the right direction. What is there -- I know you just said driving -- to focus on now that you've known this course is now different than maybe you guys were used to in the practice rounds?
BRITTANY ALTOMARE: Yeah, I think just staying aggressive, especially on the approach shots. Be aggressive at the pin and giving yourself birdie looks. Because it's so soft, just be aggressive. There is no need to play away from the hole.
There is -- these greens are slopey but you can't really use them because it's so soft.
