Quick Quotes
Q. How satisfying is it to get this team win done with a guy that's like a brother right along side you?
CAM SMITH: It's been a pretty cool week. Played some really solid golf. It was really tough. That back nine was brutal, but we hung in there and we won.
Q. That hole out on 16, the entire place erupted, what was going through your mind when Cam put it in the water and then maybe, Cam, too, what was going through your mind when Marc got it done?
MARC LEISHMAN: He hit a really good shot. It was the right club and the right shot, just drifted a little in the wind. I wasn't walking up there thinking that I was going to give him a little jab or something. I was just concentrating on my game and I was lucky enough to be on the up slope and made it.
Q. So many big swings. Marc, tell me about the chip in at the 16th hole, simply a big momentum swing.
MARC LEISHMAN: It was. Cam actually hit a really good tee shot there and just the wind got it a bit more than we thought. It was probably three yards from being there for one on the green there. But had that positive mindset. It's different when you're playing with a partner. Not that you're not trying, but if you can do something like that and have someone to celebrate with. I forgot to get the ball out of the hole, actually. Louis had to throw it to me. It was nice to make that, settle us down a little bit and we were able to finish it off in the playoff.
Q. Cam, you become the first two-time winner of the team event of the Zurich Classic, and while that first one I know was awfully great, to win it with one of your best mates, this has to be very special.
CAM SMITH: Yeah, I guess I'm good at picking good partners. He carried me this week. No, that was really cool. We had such a good week on and off the golf course. We stayed together all week. The boys were with us all week as well. It was just such a cool week. Something I'll never forget for sure.
Q. How satisfying or emotional is it to win with someone who is such a good friend?
MARC LEISHMAN: It's amazing. Not very often you get to celebrate together. You celebrate with your caddie and your team, but to be able to do it with a fellow player and a mate, it's as good as it gets, really. This is a pretty special win.
Q. Cam, on the back nine it seemed like there was give and take. What were your emotions?
MARC LEISHMAN: Yeah. I thought we played some really good golf on the back nine there, Leish's drive on 13, I think, straight up the tree there, it was a better shot than that. Same as his tee shot into 17. I mean, he hit the perfect shot and we ended up making bogey. So I think there's a, we left a couple out there for sure, but the fight and the grind there at the end was pretty special.
Q. Marc, 13 a little unlucky, but then the chip in at 16. Do you think maybe the golf course owed you one on that one?
MARC LEISHMAN: Yeah. I had to take unplayables from that tree two days. After I got asked the question on Friday -- or Thursday about that tree, if I thought it was a good tree, and I said yes. I wouldn't change my answer to no. But, yeah, I mean, it is give and take and certainly when you've got a partner you're playing for and you do something like that, you want to, it's fun to pay him back a little bit. I really wanted to make that chip on 16. It was a quite a simple chip, to be honest, but when I executed it, I was really, really pleased to do that and it ended up being just fine.
