Quick Quotes
Q. Was there kind of like some defending champion fun, nerves?
MINJEE LEE: Not really, no.
Q. We were gone too long?
MINJEE LEE: Yeah, I might have been gone too -- if it was the next year I probably would've. No, not really. I was just ready for a nice day.
Q. Yeah.
MINJEE LEE: It was kind of cold today. I was cold all day.
Q. It got cold. Solid. Any time you can shoot under par here I feel like that's a pretty good score to start out.
MINJEE LEE: Yeah, it's a shame I bogeyed the last hole. I hit it good today. Putted pretty good.
Just sometimes it's going to go in and sometimes it's not on poana greens. So, yeah.
Q. Will you look at what you did in 2019 at all this week and analyze or just remember what you did to get to where you got to?
MINJEE LEE: I don't think so. I think I'm just going to go out tomorrow and just try and make as many birdies as I can. I think that's pretty much what I'm going to do. I'm not going to reflect back. Not yet.
Q. Okay. Does the course, from your experience here, play any different from afternoon to morning and morning to afternoon?
MINJEE LEE: You know, obviously the greens are not as smooth in the afternoon. Poana is budding up a little bit. The pace was really quite quick today, so they were rolling pretty good.
But other than that, I think because of the wind, some of the shots were playing a little longer. But other than that, maybe in the morning it would be a little more still. Maybe not as much wind and smoother greens.
