Quick Quotes
Q. First of all, can we just get your thoughts overall on the week?
MARTIN LAIRD: Right now very frustrated. I hit it great again today, and I made no putts all week. I just really struggled on the greens a bit. My caddie said even four, five shots just on the back nine today I left on the greens and a good four or five yesterday.
Every round this week, I kind of felt like it's the worst score I could have shot, and today definitely the case. Looking back, I'll be pleased with the week, just in terms of how I played tee to green. But as of right now when I knew, same as yesterday, it could have been a good round and make no putts, it's a little frustrating.
Q. What was it specifically about the putts? Just not seeing the line?
MARTIN LAIRD: Not seeing the lines -- I mean, there's so many putts, even when you're eight, ten feet above the hole, you're lagging. My caddie and I had a couple today, we read them the wrong way. Think they're inside right, and they break right. From eight, nine feet, you're just kind of baffled.
Especially when it was breezy, like on 15, the wind was pretty strong. I had a quick downhiller. I just don't see the putt going right, and it went right. I'm assuming, because they're so fast down the hill, if it's windy like that, it's moving it.
Everything breaks towards No. 12, and it's hard to believe it sometimes. 17, I had the ball, and I thought it was right center, but it went right. It's hard to trust it sometimes, and I didn't do a very good job this week with that. So a little frustrating right now.
Q. This is your first time here in quite a bit. Are you even more motivated to get back here next year now?
MARTIN LAIRD: Yeah, I had an unbelievable week. Obviously, it's a fantastic tournament and one you always want to play in. As I said, looking back, I've really enjoyed the week, even though right now I'm a little frustrated. But looking back, I'll be very pleased with how I played.
I really tee to green played well enough to be in the mix right now, and just hopefully next time I'm back, I can figure out the greens and maybe see if I can get there.
Q. What's your schedule like coming up?
MARTIN LAIRD: I have a week off, go home and see the family, which will be nice. Then I'm heading to New Orleans and then Tampa for the next two tournaments. So a little break and then back at it.
