Quick Quotes
Q. A second-round 69 has you at 1-under in the 2021 Masters. How do you feel about that?
MATT JONES: Great. To make the cut was always the first goal. Today that 69 couldn't have been -- I missed a lot of putts out there. 69 was as high as I could have shot today. I think -- I don't even know if I missed -- I missed the 6th green and the 4th green, and I can't remember missing another green other than that. I played great today.
Q. Let's talk about one of the putts you did make. On the 2nd you had a chance for eagle, you're on the other side of the green, but you used the slope absolutely perfectly, didn't you?
MATT JONES: Yeah, it was a nice chip, and to have an eagle is always special out here. You get something special for every eagle, so that was a nice little bonus.
Q. How do you feel about your iron game at the moment?
MATT JONES: It was good. I hit my irons very well today. I had a lot of good birdie putts out there, just the greens can be pretty treacherous. I was probably a little too tentative worrying about the comebackers, so that's something I can figure out tomorrow.
Q. The conditions, how are they different to yesterday?
MATT JONES: They weren't a lot different to yesterday. I think they kept it pretty similar to what we had yesterday morning. The wind is picking up now a little bit, but overall it was playable.
Q. Do you keep an eye on the leaderboard during your round, and what's your strategy for tomorrow?
MATT JONES: It's hard not to because you see they're everywhere out there. They're great to see. They're big, white and the names are everywhere. I mean, it's not a course you can be aggressive at, so it's just take what the course gives me, and I'll go from there.
