Quick Quotes
Q. Hey, there, good playing. Do you feel pretty good about how everything went?
CHRISTIAAN BEZUIDENHOUT: Yeah, it was good out there today. It played quite firm, and it firmed up during the day. It's a lot firmer already. There's quite a few greens that dried out a lot that you have to be respectful with, but, yeah, overall I was hitting it great. Pleased with the day.
Q. Did you have any nerves starting off? How did you feel there on the 1st tee and the first couple of holes?
CHRISTIAAN BEZUIDENHOUT: Well, there's always 1st tee nerves, like they call it, but, yeah, as soon as you get your first tee shot going, it's all excitement from there. Lovely to play with Sergio and Webb today, two great guys. Yeah, learned a lot from them.
Q. How did you feel on the last nine holes? Did you feel the wind -- you made three birdies on the front, correct?
CHRISTIAAN BEZUIDENHOUT: Yeah.
Q. Then kind of just hold on on the back when it started to get a little windy?
CHRISTIAAN BEZUIDENHOUT: Yeah, the wind started to pick up quite a bit, and it was flowing through Amen Corner, like it always does. Pity about my three-putt on 13, but overall I have to say, tee to green, I was hitting it great. Hopefully, I can keep that up.
Q. You played here in November, correct?
CHRISTIAAN BEZUIDENHOUT: Yeah.
Q. Is it just so much different? Do you almost have to forget everything that happened in November? Like everything.
CHRISTIAAN BEZUIDENHOUT: Yeah, November played soft. It played long. Like now there's some place where you can't even hold a green with a 7 iron in your hand, where November you're going for flags with a 4 iron in your hand. It's a completely different golf course. Different course management. I mean, you have to give those holes respect and just take a ball on the holes and go. When you are in position for the birdies, then you can make birdies. Overall, just balls are not going to hit.
Q. Then the last one, you've been playing so well the last couple of months. What sort of expectations did you have of the week? Second Masters, completely different golf course, but playing well. What were you expecting?
CHRISTIAAN BEZUIDENHOUT: Nothing much really. I've always been a guy that just plays too my strengths. My short game's pretty good. I always rely on my short game. I'm a good putter. So overall, I've been playing well over the last couple of months, but I've been struggling to put four rounds together. So hopefully, I can turn that around this week and put four decent rounds together and then see where I finish off.
