Quick Quotes
Q. So tell us a little bit about your round and how of the course. Is it even more hard than you expected.
ABRAHAM ANCER: It was quite the grind. I didn't hit it the best off the tee so I had to really dig deep and come up with some up and downs.
Played good. I'm not mad or disappointed. I feel like I played pretty solid for how I hit it. Rolled it pretty good, too.
Like I said, it's playing tough, so we got to stay positive and stay really, really focused out there. There is going to be some shots that you think you hit in a good spot and they're not going to end up in a good spot.
You got to dig deep and get it up and down.
Q. Highlights of round and the worst moments?
ABRAHAM ANCER: There weren't many too crazy highlights. I had a pretty nice start on the front nine; played really solid.
Then maybe on 9 I hit a really good shot on my second shot in there and the green there is extremely crusty. So there is not much friction on the ball with the green, so you can't hit it that hard so the wind moves it quite a bit.
So I missed short one; that really stung. Felt like I was going to get on a good roll after that.
But can't complain. Like I said, I hit the ball well with my irons. Got up and down. Some maybe dumb mistakes maybe like on 15. Should have laid up from my position.
Other than that, I'm not too a mad about it.
Q. How do you compare this first round to the one manage November?
ABRAHAM ANCER: I don't think you can compare it. It's just completely different. You got to be really careful with your second shots. You got to use the slopes. You got to know exactly where not hit it and where to hit it.
In November you can pretty much just aim right at it doesn't matter where the pin was. You can go right at it and you will stop it. Definitely not the case now. It showcases how challenging this golf course is, and I like that.
