Quick Quotes
Q. Brian, what was working so well for you out there today?
BRIAN HARMAN: Yeah, I just hung in there early.
The golf course is playing very difficult. I was able to get a couple of really good up and downs, and the stretch of kind of 5, 6, and 7, kind of hung in there, and was able to make a couple putts.
Q. What was the toughest part about how the course was playing?
BRIAN HARMAN: On the back nine, the wind started picking up a bit, and it was swirling around. The wind wants to come out of the south, and you go to the east and the west, and you get down around Amen Corner, and it's so hard to read that wind. If you've got an in between number, it's easy to be uncommitted.
Q. Can you tell us about No. 15, what did you hit in there for your second?
BRIAN HARMAN: Yeah, 15, I've got 212 hole, and I'm on a 4 iron. Ended up going a little worse than it should have. I hit a really good shot. The wind, it's just hard to tell. I got a little bit of gust down and ended up back there. I didn't hit a very good chip, but I made a great putt there.
Q. That putt was pretty nice.
BRIAN HARMAN: It was a good one, Augusta special side door.
Q. You qualified late for this thing. Is that an advantage at all? You had to kind of pick your game up and come in on a roll like that?
BRIAN HARMAN: Yeah, probably so. I mean, the previous two times I've played it, I've certainly looked forward to it maybe and prepared too much for it. I just kind of came in here, and I know the course pretty well. I've played here bunches of time. I love it around here. It's just a matter of having my game ready.
Q. Where are you confidence-wise in your game? Obviously, after THE PLAYERS and a pretty good showing at the match play as well.
BRIAN HARMAN: Yeah, I'm happy with where my short game is. It's something I always neglected. I just kind of took it for granted. It's something that I can't afford to be average. It's got to be really good for me to contend. If my iron game would pick up just a little bit, I think I can do okay.
Q. Because you're not the longest hitter in the world, do you still feel you're a real contender here, I guess? Like I said, how does this place suit you?
BRIAN HARMAN: I think there's still plenty of room in the game for a guy like me. I don't make any bones about not being able to carry it 300, but I don't think you have to.
