Q. What is it like to be out here playing on Augusta National?

ALEXA MELTON: I'm just grateful for the opportunity and it was just a great experience. It was an experience you can't replicate anywhere else and I'm just really happy to be here.

Q. Two years ago, it felt like everyone was elevated coming here. Do you feel is this place takes you to a new level?

ALEXA MELTON: I definitely think Augusta National has that effect on you, especially with all the people. It definitely has that effect on you, and it's just amazing.

Q. You may or may not want to talk about this but clearly this is a political time here in Georgia and I'm sure you're aware of the law in Georgia, and you may have heard about Major League Baseball pulling the All-Star Game out, and on Twitter, you had a Tweet on June 1 that said, "I am not black but I see you, I'm not black but I hear you, I'm not black but I will fight for you for what it right for what you deserve," which is beautifully written. How important do you think it is to speak out on issues?

ALEXA MELTON: I actually just wrote a paper on this where it's like where sports athletes, they have a platform and where they should actually use their platform to speak out on the changes that are happening, and to just start -- stand for what's right.

Q. So with that in mind, I know you're playing golf, I know you're in the bubble of golf, but knowing you're here in Georgia, are you concerned about the law here in Georgia? What are your thoughts on the law?

ALEXA MELTON: I'm not familiar what is the law, actually. In Georgia?

Q. Any ways. You don't have any specific thoughts on that?

ALEXA MELTON: No.

Q. What about the issues -- what can you personally do or say?

ALEXA MELTON: I can definitely use my platform to advocate for them and just put more eyes and more focus on them.

Q. Is it safe to say over the last few days you've just been focused on golf; you haven't been paying attention to the headlines?

ALEXA MELTON: Yes, I haven't been paying attention to school, really. That's a bummer. Really need to.
