Quick Quotes
Q. Talk about the round, how incredible was it?
ANA PELAEZ TRIVINO: Amazing. I was extremely nervous on hole No. 1 but I told myself while I was warming up go out and enjoy every single feeling, the pressure, the nerves. Just the magic of being here. I think I had a pretty good start, which gave me some momentum and then I had a three-putt on No. 9 which kind of let me a little bit down but my caddie was like, you know, keep going, you're playing great. So it was just amazing.
Q. When did the nerves go away?
ANA PELAEZ TRIVINO: After I hit the first driver. And then I kind of like run down the hill. It was like, yeah, I could breathe.
Q. Was your caddie a local caddie?
ANA PELAEZ TRIVINO: Yes, Glenn. Really good. You know, yesterday we had to decide whether I was going to have my caddie with me in the bag or a local caddie this time, his game is Glenn. We thought with the greens, the grain and everything, I think having Glenn on any bag was going to be the key to kind of like save some shots out there today.
So, yeah.
Q. Who is your caddie?
ANA PELAEZ TRIVINO: Pedra. It was hard for me and for her because you know, you kind of want to caddie here and enjoy wearing the white, you call it jump suit, I don't know how you call it. But she understood. It's the tournament. It's part of the deal.
Q. Is it everything you expected? More than that? More than that.
ANA PELAEZ TRIVINO: You see it on TV and it's pretty cool, once you get out here, you just cannot believe it. It's amazing. It's paradise. I was jealous at a turtle on No. 15. I was like, that turtle can stay here and I get to play it once. Come on.
Q. Favorite shot if you had to pinpoint one?
ANA PELAEZ TRIVINO: Oh, No. 15. Hit it into the green with a 3-wood. My caddie was just like, just between the flag and the pine tree on the right, just right in the middle, right in the middle, about maybe 15 feet of the flag, so pretty good.
Q. The eagle putt lipped-out?
ANA PELAEZ TRIVINO: Yes. On the high side. So not that bad.
Q. To get the hole-in-one --
ANA PELAEZ TRIVINO: That would have been amazing. I would have enjoyed it a lot. I can picture my celebration, actually. Didn't happen. Oh, well. I didn't plan it but I can picture, it getting all emotional.
Q. Your dad was here. Did that make it extra special?
ANA PELAEZ TRIVINO: Yes. Oh, my God, I'm going to cry. Definitely. Sorry. I'm the player and I'm the one that practices and that everyone tells I deserve to be here but without my family, all the time, my parents, all the drives and everything, I would not be here. I had to live this and experience this with my dad and my coach and that means the world. Yeah, it definitely means a lot. I deserve it, but he's done half of my job. It means so much.
