Press Conference
Q. What are your impressions from the course today?
INGRID LINDBLAD: I feel like it's a little similar. The greens are -- as Champions Retreat, the greens are pretty firm. You need to land the ball before the pin and let it roll out. There's a lot of -- I've never been here before, so I was a little shocked by the elevation on almost every hole. So I just tried to get some good elevation in the yardage book. But it was fun out there today.
Q. How did the course feel to you? Did you feel stretched? Did it feel long?
INGRID LINDBLAD: Not really. I mean, some of the holes, they look long in the yardage book, but then you get there and it's a lot downhill, so, it's fine.
Q. How many of the par 5s did you go for in two?
INGRID LINDBLAD: Like none of them.
Q. Because you didn't want to play it that way?
INGRID LINDBLAD: A little of both. On 13 it was dead-into when we were there, so it was really long. And 15, I didn't hit a good tee shot. So I just decided not to.
Q. So what's it going to take tomorrow? What do you think you need to play at or what do you need to do to be at the top at the end of the day?
INGRID LINDBLAD: You need to hit the fairway because if you're outside the fairway, it's trouble. And then if you can get a couple of good looks and make a few putts, I mean, that would be awesome. I feel like you need a few birdies out here because you're going to make both bogeys and birdies.
Q. Have you played with Rose before?
INGRID LINDBLAD: Yeah, I played Junior Ryder Cup with her. Actually all three matches against her. So it's kind of fun to play like with her instead of -- well, we still play against each other but at that time it was Europe against the U.S. So it's a little different now.
Q. Must have been a singles match in there. How did that turn out?
INGRID LINDBLAD: Oh, I was like 3-up with three to go, and then she won all three holes. I didn't make my putt. That was fun. We had a great time.
Q. How about the other two?
INGRID LINDBLAD: The other two matches? We won the first one, the foursome match, and then I think we halved the fourball.
Q. So you went 1-0-2 against her?
INGRID LINDBLAD: Yeah.
Q. Do you feel like you got the upper hand?
INGRID LINDBLAD: Well, we won one and tied two, so I feel like anything could happen.
Q. What do you think your biggest advantage is tomorrow?
INGRID LINDBLAD: I hit my irons pretty high. So my caddie was a little shocked on some holes today where he's like, oh, you hit it that high? Yeah, I usually hit them so high. Just hitting high iron shots and not letting them roll too far, I would say.
Q. Did you do that intentionally or a conscious decision?
INGRID LINDBLAD: No, I've been hitting them high for a while. Not trying to work on some thing special to get my ball flight down, they just come out high.
Q. With all of your teammates making the cut, what does it say about what the Swedish Federation is doing to push women's golf further?
INGRID LINDBLAD: They have done great things for a couple years now and we have a bunch of great players and we still have players coming. They try to include players who are not on the national team, so they still do things for them and invite them for tournaments and camps and stuff. So just trying to include everyone and just like our coach says, someone gets to play something but everyone doesn't get to play anything.
Q. How would you describe Augusta National?
INGRID LINDBLAD: It's an amazing golf course and I'm shocked how big it actually is because you don't see it on TV and it's an amazing course, like the fairways are amazing.
Q. What you do you think the feeling is going to be like on the first tee?
INGRID LINDBLAD: It's going to be a little nervous. I don't feel like it's the easiest tee shot on 1 either, so just trying to get a good target and swing with confidence.
Q. What would becoming a champion at Augusta mean to you?
INGRID LINDBLAD: It would be really cool. I'm first LSU women's golfer here and I'm the first Swede golfer, so a lot of firsts.
Q. What's your favorites Masters memory?
INGRID LINDBLAD: Probably when Tiger won, when was that, in 2019? Yeah, that was cool, his comeback for like everything, yeah.
