Augusta, Georgia, USA
Quick Quotes
Q. Isabella, what's it been like out there today for your first round competing in an Augusta National event?
ISABELLA HOLPFER: Obviously, I was really excited. I got my invitation like two years ago, so I couldn't wait to finally tee it up today. On the first tee box, I was a little nervous, but I had a great drive.
I had a few -- I made a few wrong club decisions today, so I was struggling a little bit, and I only played one birdie. Yeah, but I had fun out there.
Q. Receiving this invite, like you said, two years ago, what were you doing in the time between? I know you won several events and finished quite well on a lot of them. What were you doing just to keep your mind focused on getting back here?
ISABELLA HOLPFER: So I started college at UGA in August, and then we also had the opportunity to play the course three times before the practice round. So that definitely helped.
Q. What are you excited about playing Augusta National this week?
ISABELLA HOLPFER: I've never been there before, and I think it's every golfer's dream to play there or at least walk the grounds. It's not easy to get on the course, so I'm really excited.
Q. The fact that you're playing in Georgia this week, I know you guys just had a tournament a couple weeks back. What's it like to have some hometown support like that?
ISABELLA HOLPFER: It's great because whenever I get here, all the volunteers are like "Go Dawgs." That's really fun. It's nice to play a tournament in Georgia.
Q. How was last night?
ISABELLA HOLPFER: Oh, it was so nice. The food was so good.
Q. Can you talk about your feelings driving up Magnolia Lane?
ISABELLA HOLPFER: So last night was my first time driving down Magnolia Lane, and it was like unbelievable. When you get to that like roundabout with the Masters logo and the flag, it's so beautiful.
