Q. I wanted to ask you, a lot of people have been down on you guys this year. Of course the early season projection. Do you have a message for the fans and supporters who have been with you since day one?
JAHVON BLAIR: I was going to say thank you all. You all kept fighting, kept believing. Some people didn't. But everyone stuck through it and look at us just now. We're Big East champs. I'm so happy right now, I don't even know what to say, honestly.
Q. Given Coach Ewing's history with Georgetown and how much he's meant to the school and the program, how much more special does it make to get it for him and his first time as a coach?
JAHVON BLAIR: It means the world. It's his first time. It's my first time, Jamorko's first time. We started with him day one. Just to see how happy he is just makes me happy. Everyone's happy. I'm just so happy for him.
Q. You were on a 46-8 run. What did coach Patrick Ewing tell you in the locker room at halftime to keep your guys' foot on the gas after that big lead in the first half?
JAHVON BLAIR: He told us it's 0-0, it's a new half. Everyone has to stay locked in. Hold them to one shot and just push the ball.
Q. Just talk about your defensive effort today. True, they missed some jumpers they normally make. You (indiscernible), you shrunk the court, you were communicating apparently. Tell us about your effort.
JAHVON BLAIR: We were having fun. Everyone was rocking, everyone was engaged, everyone was serious, everyone wanted to win. We were everywhere, just getting stops. And that just led to us scoring.
Q. What do you think it means for you in terms of your legacy as a Georgetown player to be able to be kind of the first group of guys that broke this tournament drought? What do you think that means in terms of your legacy?
JAHVON BLAIR: I mean, it feels great. I was talking to little Pat, honestly I can now tell him I'm a Big East champ too. It just feels good right now. I have no words right now, I'm just so happy.
Q. You've been through so much during your time at Georgetown. Particularly you guys got off to a rough start this year then you had the COVID pause. Did you ever in your wildest dreams feel like you could get to this moment?
JAHVON BLAIR: Yeah, everyone stayed locked in and just believed. The COVID pause was, obviously it kind of hurt us; we missed about four games. But after that we started practicing and getting locked in. So, I mean, then we just turned around, turned the whole switch. And everyone's happy. Everyone's talking, everyone is playing Georgetown basketball.
