Q. How nervous were you last night and this morning, having the lead in the U.S. Open?
MAMIKO HIGA: After I finished, last night i didn't feel that much pressure. I wasn't nervous.
Q. Did you hear the lightning strike? Did it startle you? Did it scare you?
MAMIKO HIGA: That was really scary, and that was the first time I saw the lightning hit so close. So that was really scary.
Q. How important and how happy were you with that birdie on the last hole?
MAMIKO HIGA: I was really happy because I could finish up a tough day with a birdie, and so I was so happy.
Q. How big of an advantage, how relieved are you to be done with this round tonight and not have to come back tomorrow morning?
MAMIKO HIGA: I feel very lucky that I could finish up 18 holes today so that I can recover well for tomorrow.
Q. How important is the Olympics, qualifying for the Olympics in Japan next year? When did that become a goal of yours?
MAMIKO HIGA: She doesn't know when.
Q. Is it a goal?
MAMIKO HIGA: Yeah, of course I want to go to Olympics, but it's not only goal. Every time I play in a tournament, I set the goal close to my -- every tournament, I play my best.
