Q. Six birdies, no mistake, how do you manage to do that?
MAMIKO HIGA: I really felt great, and I felt great through 18 holes, no problems.
Q. What was the best part of your game today?
MAMIKO HIGA: Putting is the best thing. Maybe speed is matched with my putting style.
Q. Why do you think the course is so suitable for you?
MAMIKO HIGA: It's got wide fairways. (Inaudible) Once you get in the green and just going -- it's a lot of tricky holes -- so some easy holes and some tricky holes. So having fun right now playing these holes.
Q. You seem to play very well at the Majors. So why? You don't have any nerves? What do you think why you perform so well at the Major stage?
MAMIKO HIGA: I'm just enjoying 100 percent.
Q. Is winning your goal for this week?
MAMIKO HIGA: Of course.
Q. Did your husband talk to you at all, like kind of encourage you, say come to win the $1 million and then we can spend it? What's the plan?
MAMIKO HIGA: No. He just said to me, you know, have fun and enjoy yourself.
Q. Who is more famous back in Japan, you or him?
MAMIKO HIGA: I don't know.
Q. Is he competing this week in Japan?
MAMIKO HIGA: No.
Q. How high were her expectations and confidence coming into this week?
MAMIKO HIGA: Not much. Couple weeks before -- I haven't been playing good the last two weeks, so I didn't expect much.
Q. What do you think of the unusual 11th green? Has she ever encountered a green anything like that in Japan?
MAMIKO HIGA: Never.
