Q. How did you girls feel walking off the course with a win?
ARIYA JUTANUGARN: Feel great. Didn't expect -- I mean, we want to win the match, but like soon as we saw the pairing, like, you know, Japan is tough for us. I didn't play that good, but pretty lucky I got her so she helped me a lot today.
Q. Sherman, what did you do to help her out there?
SHERMAN SANTIWIWATTHANAPHONG: Just try to play my best and doing my shot. Sometime just like ask her what should I do and she help me a lot today.
Q. Anything particular she helped you with?
ARIYA JUTANUGARN: Be nice. (Laughter.)
SHERMAN SANTIWIWATTHANAPHONG: She told me one thing.
ARIYA JUTANUGARN: I told her after our first tee shot, I'm like, our goal is we're not going to be scared. We're just going to hit, because I trust you. I have you so I'm not going to be scared.
You have to trust me. Like don't be scared. Just like do what you want to do and just hit it.
Q. I would think that would help you your first time out here on a stage like this.
SHERMAN SANTIWIWATTHANAPHONG: Yeah, that's help me a lot.
Q. How aware were you of what was going on with the other match?
ARIYA JUTANUGARN: We just saw on 18. I know they got really tough match, because Nasa, one of the best player in the world. I think they did a great job. They fight every hole. I know that, yeah.
Q. Is there any particular hole in your match that you felt was a big turning point for you or a good win?
ARIYA JUTANUGARN: I'm going to say on 14, the short par-4. I mean, she hit driver on the green on like 20 feet. Amazing shot. Unbelievable shot.
She made me feel so comfortable to try to go hit the green, and we both made birdie.
Q. Great. And that's match play and partnership right there.
ARIYA JUTANUGARN: Yep.
