Birmingham, Alabama
J. SOCK/M. Chiudinelli
6-4, 6-3, 6-1
THE MODERATOR: Questions in English, please.
Q. There were a lot of opportunities in the first couple of sets with you at Love-30 on Jack's serve, 15-30. What made it difficult to move ahead and maybe even get a breakpoint in some early games?
MARCO CHIUDINELLI: Yeah, actually felt a little bit crazy. Like you said, so many chances to get the breakpoint I actually did not.
So struggle a bit with his heavy serve. Yeah, he had good serves at a lot of those moments. When I managed to get the ball back, he followed up with some good second shots.
I remember the 5-3 game second set I think I returned two times well at 15-30, and he just played great points. So that's credit to him.
I think I was not really well rewarded for playing two solid sets. You know, the break I got in the first set, two double faults, and I get unlucky on two very close shots in the break in the second set, 30-All point, let call, and, yeah, he just is a little better.
I don't think it was such a big difference in the first to sets. I was disappointed to be down two sets to love. At the crucial points on his serve he always found a good serve and didn't miss any. Sometimes you get lucky and the opponent throws in some stupid unforced errors or something. Credit to him that he did not.
